At the time when I got my PAN Card I was minor. Since I was minor I didn't get my photo on PAN Card. Now I am adult. Please suggest me what is the procedure in order to have my photo on PAN Card. Should I apply for a correction form? Yes, you need to fill up the Change/Correction Request Form which you can download from the official website of NSDL or UTI. Along with the application, please provide the valid documents listed in the application including your ID Proof, Address Proof and DOB Proof with your Photo on Form. Being an adult, on the new PAN Card you will get your Photo affix on it.

There are two thing; PAN Number and PAN Card. PAN Number doesn't change even if you lost your PAN Card. It is a unique number which is issued one time. By law, an individual cannot have 2 PAN Number. This could result in to penalty of Rs 10,000 along with other legal actions. If you have lost you 'PAN Card' then yes you can get another one by submitting the'Change Request Form' which you can download from the official website of NSDL PAN Service or UTI. For adults, PAN Card is issues once and for forever. It doesn’t have any expiry or validity. It’s actually carry a ‘PAN Number’ which is unique for every individual. For minors (children’s below age of 18), the PAN Card doesn’t carry photograph. Once the minor reaches 18, they should apply for ‘Change Request Form’ to get the photo added to PAN Card. Also note that the holding of more than one ‘PAN Number’ by an individual is illegal.

None of them. While photo is required if a minor is applying for PAN Card, the physical PAN Card for minor doesn’t have any photo on it. Instead of photo it says ‘Minor’.

I had applied for PAN Card for my daughter who is 17 years old and when I received the PAN Card it is seen that the PAN Card is issued without photograph. There is no need to apply for change in residential address in PAN Card. PAN Card doesn’t carry your address. But if you want to update your address in Income Tax Department Database then you have to submit your new address proof with other required proof which you already submitted earlier with Change/Correction Form.

Minor’s Photo and Date of Birth proof is required if a minor is applying for PAN Card. The application also require documents from parents/guardian as mentioned in the application form. No, a Minor cannot sign on the PAN Card Application Form. Instead, either of the Parents or Guardian need to sign on minors behalf.

Whose photo has to be pasted and who should sign on the photo for minors PAN Card?

As you want to apply for the PAN Card of your son who is a Minor (below the age of 18 years), your son’s photo and DOB proof will be required. Note that while minor’s photo is collected, it doesn’t appear on the physical PAN Card once issued. As a parent you will also have to provide your documents as listed in application form. The application should also be signed by the parent whose documents have been submitted. The signature of the parent would be printed on the PAN Card.
